KARACHI – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle conducted a major operation at Jinnah International Airport, offloading an Afghan national attempting to travel to Kabul on a Pakistani passport along with his family.
Details of the Operation
The suspect, identified as Jalaluddin, was intercepted while boarding a foreign airline. According to FIA sources, the suspect had previously traveled to Afghanistan 6 to 7 times, but this time he was traveling with his wife and two children. During a digital forensic check of his mobile phone, authorities recovered videos and photos related to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Recovered Documents
During the search, the FIA recovered several incriminating documents from the Karachi resident, including an Afghan Citizen Card and a list of Afghan nationals repatriating from Pakistan.
Suspect’s Confession
During initial interrogation, Jalaluddin revealed that he obtained the Afghan Citizen Card through an agent for 25,000 Afghan Afghanis to meet business requirements in Afghanistan. He further disclosed that a neighbor had assisted him in acquiring Afghan documents and initiating a construction business in Kabul.
Legal Action
The FIA has registered a formal case against the suspect. Further investigations are underway to uncover potential links to human smuggling networks and extremist elements.
