KARACHI: In a major move against illegal currency transactions, the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Corporate Crime Circle (CCC) Karachi conducted a successful raid, arresting a suspect involved in Hawala Hundi operations.
Details of the Operation
The operation was carried out following the directives of the Director Karachi Zone and under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director. Acting on information from Inquiry No. 17/2026, the FIA team conducted a raid on M.A. Jinnah Road, near Gul Plaza.
Recovery and Evidence
During the raid, the suspect, identified as Muhammad Saqib Saleem (son of Muhammad Saleem), was taken into custody. The authorities recovered Rs. 20 Million (PKR 2 Crore) in cash and a Mobile Phone containing incriminating WhatsApp chats and records related to Hawala Hundi transactions.
Legal Action
All recovered cash and evidence have been seized according to legal protocols. A case is being registered against the accused under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), and further investigations are underway to uncover other members of the network.
