KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Women’s Wing President and Member of the Provincial Assembly Faryal Talpur has fiercely rejected any moves toward the division or creation of new administrative units in Sindh, declaring that the party will make the ultimate sacrifice—including resignations and even life itself—to protect the province’s unity.
Speaking passionately during an adjournment motion in the Sindh Assembly, Talpur emphasized that Sindh belongs to all its residents and asserted that the iconic slogan “Pakistan Khappe” (We want Pakistan) is now matched by “Sindh Khappe” (We want Sindh). Dismissing the possibility of fleeing abroad, she underscored her deep familial roots in the region, invoking the legacy of her ancestors—including Mir Sher Muhammad Talpur—who fought for Sindh’s sovereignty without bowing down. Furthermore, she defended Sindh’s local government framework, noting its historical efficacy while pointing out that Punjab currently lacks a comparable system, though she remained open to constructive dialogue on local governance improvements.
