KARACHI: Following the recent high-profile arrest of drug queen Anmol Pinky, the Karachi Police have scored another major victory by apprehending one of the city’s most wanted and notorious female drug traffickers, Shirin alias Sharena, along with her two sons. According to District East Police, the operation was carried out based on a tip-off in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
The Operation near Kamran Chowrangi
SSP East revealed that the Gulistan-e-Jauhar police acted on solid intelligence and conducted a raid near Kamran Chowrangi. During the operation, Sharena and her two sons were taken into custody. The accused woman allegedly runs a massive wholesale and retail network supplying heroin, hashish, and other expensive narcotics across the city.
A Look into Her Modus Operandi
Investigating officers have uncovered shocking details regarding Sharena’s operations. Sharena previously operated the largest drug den in the Sohrab Goth area. However, due to continuous police crackdowns, she shifted her base to a residential flat in Gulistan-e-Jauhar to evade law enforcement. In her new Jauhar apartment, she adopted a unique method, selling heroin directly to addicts through her flat’s window, while buyers would then consume the drugs right outside in the street.
A Family of Career Criminals
Police officials emphasized that Sharena is not an ordinary criminal but a habitual offender whose entire family is deeply entrenched in organized crime. The accused has around 35 FIRs registered against her in various police stations, and hand grenades have also been recovered from her possession during previous raids. Sharena is a convicted criminal who served a prison sentence and was released just two years ago, only to resume her drug cartel immediately. Furthermore, her husband and sons are repeat offenders with extensive criminal records and multiple jail terms.
The police have registered a fresh case against the accused and initiated an expanded investigation. Authorities expect further sensational disclosures as the interrogation progresses.
