KARACHI: A local court in Karachi on Thursday reserved its verdict on the bail application of an accused involved in an alleged property fraud case targeting prominent social media influencer, Dr. Madiha. The hearing took place before the Judicial Magistrate (South), where arguments from both the defense and prosecution were concluded.
Case Background & Allegations
During the proceedings, the complainant, Dr. Madiha, stated that the accused, identified as Ahmed Ali, defrauded her of PKR 10 million (1 Crore) under the pretext of selling a 120-square-yard plot. According to her testimony, the accused allegedly prepared forged property documents and went as far as arranging a meeting between Dr. Madiha and a fake owner to seal the fraudulent deal.
Legal Arguments
The complainant’s legal counsel strongly opposed the bail plea, informing the court that the accused had been absconding for eight months to evade arrest. Furthermore, the lawyer highlighted that the accused’s pre-arrest bail application had already been rejected by the court previously.
The case was originally registered against Ahmed Ali at the Sahil Police Station in Karachi. After hearing detailed arguments from both sides, the Judicial Magistrate reserved the decision on the post-arrest bail application, which is expected to be announced soon.
