Indian actor Sonu Mishra has revealed that he walked out of the upcoming film ‘Kala Haran: The Battle for Legacy’ just two days after shooting commenced. Although Mishra was initially thrilled to bag the lead role portraying Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, he refused to comply with a controversial contractual clause discovered later in the script and agreement details. According to the actor, the contract explicitly mandated that he make defamatory statements against Salman Khan in the media, making it clear that the project’s primary motive was to tarnish the superstar’s reputation and build a negative narrative. Choosing professional ethics over fame, Mishra exited the project and has now claimed that the filmmakers are exerting intense legal pressure on him due to his sudden departure.
This controversial project is facing a growing backlash from the industry, as Mishra is not the only actor to distance himself from the film. Veteran actor Govind Namdev has also cut ties with the movie, stating that he was kept completely in the dark about its true, underlying intent and felt deeply misled after watching the trailer.
This unfolding controversy stems from the infamous 1998 Blackbuck (Kala Haran) poaching case. In response to the film’s production and its apparent agenda, Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court, seeking urgent legal recourse against the violation of his personality rights and character defamation.
