KARACHI – On the directives of Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Rahoo, a high-level fact-finding inquiry committee has been established to investigate allegations of corruption and the unauthorized shifting of examination centers under the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK).
According to a notification issued by the Secretary of Universities and Boards, the committee is mandated to complete its probe and submit a detailed report to the provincial minister within 15 days.
Committee Composition
The investigative body will be led by the Special Secretary of the Department of Universities and Boards as its Convener. The Chairman of the Sindh Board of Technical Education and the Additional Secretary (Boards) will serve as members of the committee.
Terms of Reference (ToRs)
The committee has been tasked with scrutinizing the reasons behind changing examination centers shortly before or during the exams. The investigation will focus on determining if center reallocations were influenced by financial gains, nepotism, or illegal pressure. Furthermore, the committee will probe irregularities, collusion in the allotment of exam centers, and the general misuse of authority by board officials.
Strict Action Promised
Provincial Minister Ismail Rahoo emphasized that the committee would identify the officers and staff involved in these malpractices. He categorically stated that strict disciplinary action will be taken against anyone found guilty of compromising the merit and transparency of the examination process.
