KARACHI – The New Karachi Industrial Area Police have successfully debunked a reported robbery involving Rs 2.5 million, revealing it to be a pre-planned drama staged by the complainant himself to avoid a debt.
The Initial Claim On March 10, a citizen identified as Saad Hassan reported that four armed men on two motorcycles had intercepted him near Sitara Park, close to Etihad Enterprise. He claimed the assailants snatched Rs 2.5 million in cash before fleeing the scene. Following the report, the police registered FIR No. 132/2026 under Sections 397/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The Investigation As part of the probe, the police meticulously examined the crime scene and analyzed various technical aspects of the statement. According to SSP Central Dr. Imran, inconsistencies began to emerge during the initial phase of the investigation.
The Confession Under professional interrogation, Saad Hassan eventually confessed that the robbery never took place. He admitted to staging the entire incident to avoid paying back Rs 2.5 million to his employer, Idris, who also happens to be his maternal uncle (Khalu).
To make the scene look authentic, Hassan intentionally dropped his motorcycle near Sitara Park to mimic a struggle and then called the police with the fabricated story.
Conclusion The Karachi Police successfully solved the case within 48 hours, proving that the high-stakes robbery was merely a “drop scene” of a financial dispute. Legal proceedings are now being initiated against the complainant for providing false information to the authorities.
