KARACHI: The Sahil Police has arrested two individuals for violating Section 144, which prohibits the use of drone cameras in the city. A formal case has been registered against the suspects. The suspects, identified as Abdullah Owais and Abid, were caught operating a drone camera in open defiance of the Sindh government’s standing orders.
Details of the Ban The Sindh government has imposed a 60-day province-wide ban on the use of drone cameras, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and helicams. These restrictions were implemented on February 27 across Sindh due to heightened security concerns. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are the only entities exempted from this ban.
Legal Action Police authorities emphasized that the operation was part of a crackdown to ensure the strict implementation of Section 144. All Station House Officers (SHOs) have been granted the authority to register cases against anyone found violating these security protocols.
