KARACHI – A horrific traffic accident on the M-9 Super Highway claimed at least four lives, including a woman and a child, after multiple vehicles collided on the track leading into Karachi near DHA City.
The Incident According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, the pile-up involved a Hiace van and two trucks. Initial reports suggest the accident was caused by slippery road conditions following recent rainfall, leading to the vehicles losing control and crashing into one another.
Casualties and Rescue Operations Rescue officials from the Edhi Foundation confirmed that the deceased include 4 individuals, among whom were a woman and a child. The 4 injured victims, including three women, are reported to be in critical condition. All victims were immediately shifted to a private hospital via Edhi ambulances, while rescue teams remain on-site to clear the wreckage and assist further.
Authorities’ Statement The Motorway Police have urged commuters to exercise extreme caution and maintain low speeds, as the rain has made the highway dangerously slippery. Investigations are ongoing to determine if overspeeding played a role alongside the weather conditions.
