KARACHI: A food delivery rider was critically injured late at night after being hit by a speeding car reportedly engaged in a street race on Khayaban-e-Ittihad, DHA.
The Incident
The accident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM near the Saba Signal on Khayaban-e-Ittihad. According to police reports, 32-year-old Farhan was on his motorcycle when a high-speed vehicle, appearing to be racing another car, lost control. The car somersaulted multiple times before crashing into Farhan, who was positioned on the opposite side of the road.
Condition of the Victim
Rescue sources confirmed that Farhan sustained life-threatening head injuries. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspects on the Run
Police stated that two young men were inside the vehicle responsible for the crash. In a deceptive move, the duo initially pretended to offer help and called for another vehicle to assist. However, using the pretext of heading to the hospital, they fled the scene shortly after.
Investigation Status
Authorities have launched a search for the suspects. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the Khayaban-e-Ittihad area to identify the vehicle’s license plate and track down the individuals involved.
