KARACHI : Following the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Government has finalized the draft for the ambitious “Sindh Youth Card” program, aimed at empowering the province’s younger generation. The second high-level meeting regarding the card’s launch was chaired by Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar. The session was attended by Secretary Sports Munawar Ali Mahesar, Director Asad Ishaq, and Chief Engineer Muhammad Aslam Mahar, where a detailed briefing on the implementation strategy was provided.
Program Details and Eligibility
In the first phase, 100,000 youths across 30 districts of Sindh will receive the card. The program is specifically designed for young individuals aged between 15 and 29 years who hold a Sindh domicile. The initiative is highly inclusive, covering girls, boys, minorities, and persons with disabilities. Youth Development Centers in all districts will be utilized to provide active training and support to the cardholders.
Benefits for Cardholders
The Sindh Youth Card is designed to be a gateway to multiple opportunities, including interest-free loans, scholarships, and internships. It will also provide specialized training for overseas employment, alongside international-standard sports training and healthcare facilities for young athletes. Furthermore, the government is considering providing Pink Scooties or alternative transport solutions for young women to ease their mobility.
Next Steps
Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar stated that the draft will first be sent to the Law Department for legal scrutiny. Once cleared, it will be presented to the Sindh Cabinet for final approval before the official launch of the program.
