Sindh Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a major upgrade to Karachi’s public transport system, confirming that a large fleet of modern Double-Decker and Electric Vehicles (EV) buses will arrive in the city this year. Following the success of the Peoples Bus Service, these new buses will be deployed phase-wise across various routes to significantly improve urban mobility.
This strategic initiative aims to provide an environmentally sustainable, comfortable, and highly affordable commuting experience through eco-friendly EV buses. At the same time, the addition of iconic double-decker buses is set to enhance Karachi’s transport culture and elevate the city’s overall visual appeal. Minister Memon emphasized that this project goes beyond merely increasing the bus count; it represents a definitive step toward transforming Karachi into a modern metropolis equipped with world-class, safe, and reliable public infrastructure.
