KARACHI – The Commissioner of Karachi has officially issued a notification regarding a hike in milk prices across the metropolitan city, effective immediately.
According to the notification, the retail price of milk has been increased by Rs. 20 per liter. Consumers in the Karachi Division will now officially be charged Rs. 240 per liter for fresh milk.
Price Breakdown The new pricing structure approved by the Commissioner’s office is as follows: Farm Rate: Rs. 215 per liter Wholesale Rate: Rs. 225 per liter Retail Rate: Rs. 240 per liter
Official Status: The notification clarifies that these prices are applicable across all districts of the Karachi Division with immediate effect.
The move comes after persistent demands from dairy farmers and wholesalers citing increased production and transportation costs. However, it remains to be seen how strictly the local administration will enforce these official rates at the retail level.
