KARACHI: A Judicial Magistrate in Malir has handed over a female suspect, identified as Nargis alias “Malka,” to police custody on a three-day physical remand following her arrest for alleged large-scale drug trafficking.
The Arrest and Seizure
According to the Quaidabad Police, the suspect was apprehended during a raid near the Khudadad Graveyard in Swati Mohalla. During the operation, officials recovered 35 kilograms of high-quality hashish (Chars) valued at over Rs. 6 million and more than Rs. 100,000 in cash, suspected to be drug money.
Court Proceedings
During the hearing, the Investigating Officer (IO) informed the court that the suspect is allegedly a key supplier who distributes narcotics to various posh localities across Karachi. The IO requested physical remand, stating that custody is essential to trace the supply chain, identify the source of the narcotics, and arrest her accomplices involved in the trade.
Case Status
A case has been formally registered against the accused at the Quaidabad Police Station. The court, after reviewing the police’s initial report, granted a three-day remand and directed the IO to produce a progress report at the next hearing.
