KARACHI – The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has finalized a comprehensive master plan to expand the Jinnah International Airport, aiming to modernize its infrastructure and increase capacity for the next five decades.
According to the details, the expansion project is estimated to cost Rs 100 billion. The plan has been designed keeping in view the projected growth in passenger traffic, cargo volume, and business activities for the next 50 years.
Key Highlights of the Project: Significant expansion of both International and Domestic terminal buildings will be carried out to accommodate more passengers. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art cargo section meeting international standards will be constructed to boost trade. The design primarily focuses on long-term scalability, ensuring the airport remains a regional hub for the next half-century.
This mega project is expected to significantly improve the travel experience for commuters while providing a much-needed boost to Karachi’s economic connectivity.
