KARACHI: IG Sindh Police, Javed Alam Odho, has publicly acknowledged operational lapses by law enforcement in the high-profile murder case of Mir Raza. Speaking at a Sindh Bar Council event, he assured that a fresh, independent investigation is underway based on a newly commissioned medico-legal report, with strict legal action promised against anyone found negligent.
Addressing broader institutional matters, the IG highlighted that crime rates in Karachi have dropped by 14% and emphasized a collaborative approach between police and the legal fraternity to resolve systemic issues rather than resorting to protests. He also noted that over the past seven months, disciplinary actions have been taken against 27,000 police personnel to root out internal misconduct.
