In a major cybersecurity breach, India’s prominent broadcasting giant, Sun TV Network, was targeted by hackers who temporarily disrupted its transmissions and compromised its internal broadcast management portal.
During the cyber attack, the hackers replaced the regular broadcast on multiple Sun TV channels with a banner featuring the Pakistani flag and the slogan “Pakistan Always Long Live” (Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad). Escalating the assault, the attackers deployed ransomware that successfully locked 1,800 domain systems across the network.
Industry experts note that this high-profile incident raises serious questions regarding India’s claims of robust digital security. The breach has exposed critical administrative and technical vulnerabilities within the country’s IT infrastructure and digital defense systems.
