KARACHI – Faisal Edhi, the head of the Edhi Foundation, has reportedly received an automated traffic fine (e-challan) for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. However, initial investigations suggest the fine was issued due to a fake number plate used by an unidentified motorcyclist.
The Incident
According to details, the e-challan was issued against motorcycle number KPK-0115. Since the vehicle number is registered in the Edhi Foundation’s records, the system automatically dispatched the fine to the official address.
The Twist: Fake Number Plate
Sources within the Edhi Foundation have clarified that Faisal Edhi was not using the motorcycle at the time, nor was he present at the location mentioned in the fine. It appears that an individual was using a counterfeit number plate matching Faisal Edhi’s registration, causing the automated system to misidentify the violator.
Legal Action
The Edhi Foundation administration has taken the matter seriously to prevent further misuse of their credentials. A formal report has been lodged at the relevant police station to track down the individual using the forged plate and to clear Faisal Edhi’s name from the traffic violation records.
