CM Murad Ali Shah Reviews PKR 140 Billion Infrastructure Projects, Orders Rapid Completion

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired a high-level meeting to conduct a comprehensive review of the province’s development projects and the Federal PSDP portfolio. The session focused on the progress of massive infrastructure schemes worth PKR 140 billion.

Key Project Statistics & Participation The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning & Development Jam Khan Shoro, Minister for Works Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Chairman P&D Najam Shah, Secretary Finance Fayaz Jatoi, and other senior officials. The briefing highlighted that the total cost of five major road projects stands at PKR 140.9 billion, with PKR 17.94 billion already released during the current fiscal year to ensure work continues at an accelerated pace.

Major Infrastructure Highlights The Chief Minister reviewed progress on several strategic arteries, including the extension of the Sindh Coastal Highway, improvement of the Rohri-Guddu Barrage Road, doubling of the Mehran Highway, and the upgradation of the Sanghar-Rohri (N-5) link.

New Approvals for Regional Connectivity To further bridge the gap between Lower and Upper Sindh, CM Murad Ali Shah approved several new proposals. These include the construction of an 84-km dual carriageway from Dadu to Dokri, as well as road doubling projects from Jacobabad to Kandhkot and Thatta to Badin.

Strict Directives on Quality and Delays Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasized that roads are the “lifeline of the economy” and essential for boosting agriculture, industry, and coastal trade. He issued strict instructions stating there would be zero tolerance for administrative or technical delays. He directed that the relocation of Sui Gas pipelines and electricity poles must be fast-tracked and regular inspections must be conducted to ensure no compromise on construction standards. The CM concluded by demanding complete transparency in the utilization of funds and rigorous monitoring of all ongoing schemes.
