KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle a significant quantity of drugs to the United Kingdom through a courier service, a spokesperson confirmed.
According to details, the operation was carried out based on intelligence reports. During the inspection of a suspicious parcel at a courier office in Karachi, ANF officials recovered 2.1 kilograms of heroin.
Operation Highlights: The seized contraband consisted of 2 kg 100 grams of Heroin. The drugs were expertly hidden inside a consignment of disposable plastic containers. Investigation revealed that the parcel originated from Lahore and was intended to be shipped to the UK via Karachi.
The ANF spokesperson stated that this successful operation reflects the department’s unwavering commitment to a drug-free society. The force remains on high alert to combat the menace of drug trafficking and to prevent the illegal smuggling of narcotics across international borders.
A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to apprehend the network involved in this smuggling attempt.
