KARACHI/PESHAWAR: A major impersonation scam was unearthed during the ongoing physical and endurance tests for various positions in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Authorities arrested four individuals who were attempting to take the exams using fake identities.
Three Apprehended at Karachi’s SSU Headquarter
According to an FIA spokesperson, the scam came to light at the Special Security Unit (SSU) Police Headquarters in Malir, Karachi. During the initial verification of documents, officials grew suspicious of three candidates. Further scrutiny revealed that they were imposters attempting to sit the exam on behalf of the actual applicants.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Bakhtiar (son of Alam), impersonating candidate Sahino Khan; Shaman Ali (son of Roshan), impersonating candidate Hadi Bux; and Amjad (son of Muhammad Arab), impersonating candidate Aftab Ahmed.
FIA officials stated that the suspects attempted to fraudulently secure government employment, but the timely intervention of the staff foiled their plan. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and an investigation is underway to track down other potential members of this fraudulent network.
“The FIA is maintaining strict surveillance to ensure transparency and merit in the recruitment process, and we have a zero-tolerance policy against any form of impersonation or forgery,” the spokesperson reiterated.
Similar Fraud Foiled in Peshawar
In a parallel development, Peshawar Police successfully foiled a similar impersonation attempt during the FIA/National Police Foundation recruitment physical test being held at Ground No. 2 of the University of Peshawar.
During routine security checking at a police checkpoint, a suspect was intercepted. Initial verification confirmed that a man named Muhammad Adil (son of Abdul Jalil) was attempting to take the physical test on behalf of the actual candidate, Mansoor Ahmed (son of Gulistan, Roll No. 2114000280).
The imposter was caught red-handed and immediately taken into custody. Further legal action is being taken against him.
