The high-profile deaths of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian, have drawn renewed public scrutiny following explosive claims made by Roop Kumar Shah, a member of the autopsy team who handled Rajput’s remains. Shah alleged that Rajput did not die by suicide, claiming the actor’s body bore signs of strangulation and multiple tool-induced marks on his neck prior to his death on June 14, 2020. Shah further alleged that he was pressured by former Mumbai police officer Sachin Waze to complete the autopsy urgently at night, and that he subsequently faced 15 days of detention and torture for attempting to speak out.
Expanding on the investigation, Shah also alleged that Disha Salian—who died on June 8, 2020, after falling from a Mumbai building—was subjected to gang rape by five to six individuals prior to her death, citing information given to him by a colleague involved in her autopsy. While these allegations have not been independently verified, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has consistently maintained that a deep connection exists between the two deaths and has challenged the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) closure report, demanding a fresh probe into both cases.
