KARACHI: A recent controversy in Pakistan’s showbiz industry involving veteran actor and writer Syed Muhammad Ahmed and actor Fahad Sheikh has reached a turning point following widespread backlash and a public apology.
During a recent podcast, Syed Muhammad Ahmed revealed that a younger co-star mocked his baldness, height, and complexion on multiple drama sets between 2020 and 2022. Out of respect for the production team, he chose to remain silent at the time. This revelation sparked outrage across the entertainment community, with prominent figures including actor Shamoon Abbasi and host Mishi Khan strongly criticizing the behavior and demanding accountability from the responsible actor. Social media pressure mounted when a viral video identified the actor in question as Fahad Sheikh, triggering intense public criticism of his on-set conduct. Facing heavy backlash, Fahad Sheikh took to Instagram to address the controversy, explaining that the incident was merely intended as a casual on-set joke within a family-like environment, while offering an unconditional apology if his actions hurt the senior actor. He confirmed he has already apologized privately and remains willing to issue a public apology if requested. Syed Muhammad Ahmed has not yet issued a public response to the apology, though industry insiders hope the matter will be amicably resolved through mutual respect.
