KARACHI: The Sindh government is expanding its public transport network by initiating the procurement of 500 electric buses, with a formal summary already submitted to the provincial cabinet for approval.
Senior Minister for Transport, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced that the new fleet will be rolled out across various cities in phases, ensuring that modern transit options are not restricted to Karachi alone. As part of this expansion, 50 double-decker buses are scheduled to arrive in Sindh by November 30, providing increased passenger capacity and easing urban transit challenges.
Highlighting the success of recent rollouts—such as the People’s Bus Service in Qambar Shahdadkot—the government remains committed to introducing new routes that offer affordable and reliable travel facilities to citizens across the province.
