KARACHI: Karachi police have successfully cracked the high-profile murder case of a woman and her three children in Surjani Town, arresting the primary suspect, Humayun, who is the husband’s brother-in-law. During a press conference, DIG West Irfan Baloch revealed that the suspect confessed to all four murders following a detailed investigation. The horrific sequence of events began on Monday afternoon when the suspect arrived at the victim’s house, knowing her husband was away. After running a quick errand for the victim, he attempted to assault her; when she resisted, he fatally struck her on the head with an iron rod. To eliminate witnesses, he then killed her infant daughter by striking her head against a wall, and subsequently murdered the other two children when they returned home from the seminary. The suspect had meticulously planned the crime by turning off his mobile phone and leaving his motorcycle behind, but police successfully recovered the murder weapon from a drain based on his confession. Authorities have confirmed that anti-terrorism provisions will be added to the case due to the widespread panic and horror the incident caused in the community.
