KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has officially imposed an immediate and complete ban on the issuance of all new firearm licenses and arms dealership permits across the province, effective immediately until further notice. Under this directive, all licensing authorities have been strictly instructed to halt the processing and approval of any new weapon licenses. While the ban is absolute, new licenses will only be considered under extraordinary or exceptional circumstances. For any such rare exemption to be granted, prior authorization must be obtained through strict regulatory channels, which requires the formal, pre-approved consent of both the Sindh Home Minister and the Chief Minister of Sindh, alongside strict enforcement of the policy across all relevant departments.
