KARACHI: During the judicial commission’s proceedings, Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar appeared before Justice Umar Sial, offering an unconditional apology for past misunderstandings and assuring the commission of the provincial government’s commitment to transparent investigations and full cooperation. Finding the reply to a show-cause notice unsatisfactory, the commission summoned suspended Medical Legal Officer (MLO) Dr. Osama to appear in person on September 15, while issuing notices for SHOs Adeel Afzal, Head Muharrir Zeeshan, Dr. Samia, and Professor Naseem to appear on September 14. Meanwhile, the commission’s registrar has begun receiving crucial information from citizens via email and WhatsApp, including details regarding Binance accounts, digital footprints, iCloud logins, and a suspicious individual.
Sensation-worthy revelations have also emerged concerning the financial background and forensic evidence of the deceased, Mir Raza. According to official details, Mir Raza opened a Binance account in 2021 with a trading volume exceeding 89 million USDT, suffering massive financial setbacks in futures trading—including a loss of roughly 2 million USDT just days before his death on July 22 and 23, 2026. On the other hand, forensic experts expressed profound shock over grave errors and standard operating procedure violations during the crime scene handling and post-mortem examinations. Investigators noted that the crime scene was not properly cordoned off, the body was moved without gloves, nail clippings were omitted during both post-mortems, skeletal X-rays or CT scans were neglected for trajectory reconstruction, and lab reports confirmed the presence of the local anesthetic bupivacaine in the victim’s blood.
