KARACHI: Educational institutions across Sindh have officially reduced their daily operating hours by one hour, following direct appeals from female students. Speaking at a World Teachers’ Day event, Sindh Minister for Education Sardar Ali Shah announced the immediate rollback, explaining that students had reported fatigue and hunger due to the extended schedule. The extra hour had originally been implemented to make up for learning losses caused by COVID-19 and severe flooding. During the address, the minister also urged the Public Sector Development Program in Islamabad to release urgent funding to accelerate the reconstruction of flood-affected schools throughout the province.
