KARACHI: Co-accused individuals Zeeshan and Sohail, allegedly linked as facilitators to Anmol alias Pinki in a high-profile narcotics case, have approached the Sindh High Court seeking bail. During the hearing, the court issued notices to the prosecution and the investigating officer, directing both parties to submit their formal responses by August 26.
The legal proceedings are currently taking place in the Sindh High Court after the Sessions Court previously rejected the bail plea of the petitioners, Zeeshan and Sohail. According to the defense arguments, the petitioners are microfinance businessmen who have no ties to narcotics or the primary accused, Anmol alias Pinki, and they are not even nominated in the primary First Information Report (FIR). Furthermore, the defense counsel asserted that the police-cited financial transactions are framed and submitted in bad faith, the accused were abducted from their homes before being falsely implicated, and Pinki’s illicit activities were entirely unknown to anyone prior to her arrest.
