KARACHI: In a major crackdown against narcotics, the Karachi Police conducted two separate operations across the city, arresting five suspected drug peddlers—including a woman—and recovering a substantial quantity of high-value contraband.
Operation 1: 17kg Hashish Seized in Quaidabad
According to a spokesperson for the District Malir Police, the Quaidabad Police conducted a targeted operation in Bismillah Colony. During the raid, three suspects identified as Jal Habib, Nasir Habib, and Sheraz were taken into custody.
The police seized 17 kilograms of high-grade hashish (Chars), estimated to be worth over Rs. 2.5 million in the illicit market. The suspects had hidden the narcotics inside a residential house and were planning to supply them to various posh localities across Karachi. The Quaidabad Police have registered a case against the accused and handed them over to the Investigation Wing for further interrogation.
Operation 2: Online Drug Delivery Ring Busted in Gizri
In a parallel development, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the CIA Police continued its crackdown on digital narcotics distribution, busting an online drug-peddling ring operating within the jurisdiction of the Gizri Police Station.
During the successful raid, the police arrested two suspects, including a woman, identified as Muhammad Ahsan (son of Abdul Rashid) and Hina Naz (wife of Shakeel Ahmed). The team recovered 62 grams of Ice (Crystal Meth) from their possession. During the initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to being active members of the notorious Abbas Baloch Gang. They admitted to using online platforms to sell, book, and deliver synthetic drugs directly to clients across different parts of the city. The SIU has registered a case against the duo, and an active investigation is underway to track down other facilitators of this network.
