KARACHI: A high-profile gang war commander and drug lord was killed during a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by a federal civil sensitive agency and the Pak Colony Police in the Old Golimar area of Karachi.
According to a spokesperson for the District Keamari Police, law enforcement agencies launched a raid based on credible tip-offs regarding the presence of criminal elements. Upon cornering the suspects, a heavy exchange of gunfire ensued between the police party and the gang war operatives.
During the shootout, a most-wanted gang war commander, identified as Mehraj, was neutralized. Police recovered a hand grenade, illegal weapons, and ammunition from his possession.
Initial police reports indicate that the deceased suspect, Mehraj, was actively running a major drug trafficking network and orchestrating gang war activities in Old Golimar and its surrounding areas.
Following the initial encounter, additional police contingents were dispatched to the locality. Law enforcement cordoned off the entire area to launch a massive search operation targeting the facilitators and active members of the drug mafia.
The body of the killed commander has been shifted to a hospital for mandatory legal formalities, and further investigation is underway.
