KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has officially issued a comprehensive Code of Conduct for the collection of sacrificial animal hides during Eid-ul-Adha. According to the notification, the collection of hides without explicit permission from Commissioners or Deputy Commissioners is strictly prohibited. The permit process will strictly follow NACTA guidelines, and only registered welfare organizations, madrasas, and charitable institutions will be eligible. Proscribed organizations are strictly barred from collecting hides under any name or cover.
The government has imposed a complete ban on setting up collection camps, displaying banners, and using loudspeakers or flags on vehicles for announcements. Any form of coercion or forced collection is strictly illegal. Authorized personnel are required to carry their official permits at all times, as any violation will lead to the immediate seizure of hides by the authorities.
Law enforcement agencies have been empowered to conduct on-spot checking and site inspections upon the district administration’s directives. Furthermore, the Home Department has announced that all licensed weapon permits will remain suspended from 10th to 12th Zil-Hajj to ensure public safety. Permits for collective sacrifice sites will also be issued and managed by the respective district administrations.
