KARACHI: In a significant move to support its female workforce, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has inaugurated a dedicated baby daycare center at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi. This follows the successful establishment of a similar facility at the PAA Headquarters.
The facility was officially opened by Begum Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, wife of the Director General of the PAA. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Airport Manager and several high-ranking officials of Jinnah International Airport.
According to the PAA, the center is open to the children of all working mothers stationed at the airport, providing care for infants and children aged between 3 months and 3 years. Initially, the center will operate from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though there is a proposal under consideration to upgrade it to a 24-hour functional facility in the near future to accommodate various shifts.
The PAA spokesperson stated that this initiative aims to provide a secure and supportive environment for working mothers, allowing them to perform their professional duties with peace of mind. This step is being hailed as a progressive move toward gender inclusivity and workplace wellness within the aviation sector.
