KARACHI – Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has stated that innocent lives in Karachi were sacrificed to hatred and violence on May 12, 2007. In his message on the anniversary of the May 12 tragedy, the PPP Chairman paid glowing tributes to the martyrs, describing their sacrifices as a painful yet eternal reminder of the struggle for justice.
Bilawal Bhutto emphasized that the blood spilled on the streets of Karachi was not just a tragedy but a testament to the public’s unwavering commitment to democracy, justice, and the rule of law. He lauded the “Jiyalas,” political workers, and the citizens of Karachi for showing unprecedented courage and steadfastness, stating that they established an immortal symbol of resistance against fear and tyranny. The Chairman further remarked that nations do not heal by forgetting their wounds, but by remembering them with truth and dignity.
