KARACHI: The body of a 14-year-old girl, who fell into a massive 72-inch diameter water pipeline near Gulshan-e-Hadeed, has been recovered after a grueling 45-hour search operation.
The Incident According to details, the teenager, identified as Sanam, was fetching water on Tuesday evening near Steel Town when she accidentally slipped and fell into the main Water Corporation pipeline. The forceful current swept her away, sparking an immediate emergency response.
The Rescue Operation Rescue 1122 launched a specialized operation involving expert divers and search teams. After 45 hours of continuous and coordinated efforts, the girl’s body was finally located at Zero Point, approximately 45 kilometers away from the spot where she initially fell.
Official Statement A spokesperson for the rescue services confirmed that the specialized teams worked tirelessly to navigate the complex pipeline network. Following the recovery, the body was handed over to the grieving family after the completion of necessary legal formalities.
