KARACHI: In a dramatic turn of events, Karachi police, with the help of local citizens, apprehended two suspects who snatched a vehicle in the Saddar area while three minor children were still inside.
According to SSP East, Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the incident occurred while a woman and her husband were busy shopping. The suspects seized the opportunity and sped off with the car, unaware that the couple’s three young children were sitting on the back seat.
The Rescue and Arrest
The suspects drove towards Numaish Chowrangi, where they attempted to offload the children from the vehicle. A police constable stationed nearby noticed the suspicious activity and intervened. Upon realizing the situation, an enraged crowd gathered and physically assaulted the suspects before additional police reinforcements arrived at the scene.
Current Status
The police moved the injured suspects to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities confirmed that the three children have been safely reunited with their parents and the snatched vehicle has been recovered. A formal investigation into the incident is currently underway.
