KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall in Karachi during the festive days of Eid-ul-Fitr, offering much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave.
Current Weather Conditions
According to the PMD, the city is currently experiencing intense heat and dry weather. The temperature is expected to soar to 38°C today. While the sky remains partially cloudy, high humidity levels have increased the “feel-like” temperature, making the weather feel more stifling and humid.
The Forecast for Eid
Meteorologists have identified a new Western Disturbance (weather system) that is set to enter the country soon. This system is expected to bring a strong probability of rain in Karachi during the Eid holidays, leading to a significant drop in temperature. In addition to the city, intermittent rain is expected across various districts of Sindh between March 17 and March 27.
Expert Analysis
Weather experts suggest that the effects of this western system will become visible within the next few days. As the system spreads across most parts of the country, it will likely transform the current dry spell into pleasant weather, just in time for the Eid celebrations.
