KARACHI: Leaders from various political and religious parties, along with representatives of the Hindu, Sikh, and Christian communities, have announced that the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan will be observed as International Quds Day to express solidarity with the people of Palestine. The announcement was made during the annual “Al-Quds Conference and Iftar-e-Wahdat” organized by the Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF) at a local hall. The event was part of the PLF’s nationwide “Ramadan with Palestine” campaign.
The conference saw diverse participation from human rights organizations, the business community, lawyers, teachers, and student leaders. According to the joint declaration issued at the end of the session, rallies, seminars, and protest demonstrations will be held across the country on Jumat-ul-Wida to condemn Israeli aggression and amplify the voice of the Palestinian people. The speakers urged the general public to participate in Quds Day programs in large numbers to show their unwavering support for the oppressed.
The gathering was addressed by several prominent figures, including Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Muslim Pervez, Mahfooz Yar Khan, Qari Muhammad Usman, Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Maulana Baqir Zaidi, Allama Shabbir Maisami, Pir Azhar Ali Hamdani, Israr Abbasi, Maulana Asghar Shahidi, Allama Aqeel Anjum, Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani, Hafiz Ahmed Ali, Allama Mirza Yusuf Hussain, Allama Amin Ansari, Bashir Sadozai, Manoj Chauhan, Pastor Rahmat Lal, Sardar Anil Singh, and others. The speakers emphasized that Palestine is a global humanitarian issue that requires a unified stance from all segments of society.
