KARACHI: In a move to promote interfaith harmony, the Sindh government has officially decided to halt all educational examinations during Holy Week and Easter. No papers will be conducted across the province from April 2 to April 6, 2026. The provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Rahoo, issued these directives, ensuring that no educational boards schedule exams during this period to honor the Christian community’s religious festivities.
The decision was made following a special request by the Principal of St. Patrick’s High School with the primary objective to foster an environment of interfaith harmony and inclusion within the province. Under the new directive, no exams will be held from Thursday, April 2, to Monday, April 6, 2026, and all examination activities will officially resume from Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
Minister Ismail Rahoo has further directed all educational boards that have already announced their timetables to immediately issue revised schedules. All Chairmen of educational boards must ensure strict implementation of this decision and submit a compliance report to the department accordingly.
