KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Gulistan-e-Johar area, apprehending a highly wanted terrorist belonging to the Fitna-al-Khawarij (FAK) group. The arrested individual has been identified as Dost Muhammad, son of Gul Faraz Khan, a resident of Bajaur.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, the suspect was wanted for several high-profile terrorist activities. In November 2020, the suspect, along with his accomplices, opened fire on the Assistant Commissioner of Nawagai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and was also involved in setting government machinery on fire. A case involving serious terrorism charges has already been registered against him at the CTD Police Station in the Malakand Region.
The spokesperson further revealed that the suspect had been hiding in Karachi since the Bajaur incident. Investigations indicate that he, along with other members of Fitna-al-Khawarij, was planning terrorist attacks on sensitive locations within the city. Raids are currently underway to arrest his remaining accomplices, and the suspect has been handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CTD Police for further legal proceedings.
