KARACHI: The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of the Karachi Police has successfully apprehended two suspects allegedly involved in more than 100 cases of robbery and motorcycle theft. During the operation, police recovered stolen laptops, mobile phones, and motorcycles from their possession.
Details of the Arrest
According to the AVLC, the arrested individuals have been identified as Saddam Hussain (son of Karim Bakhsh) and Tabish (son of Ghulam). Residents of the Manghopir area, the suspects had been active in various parts of the city for the past four years.
Modus Operandi
The investigation revealed that the duo specialized in snatching mobile phones and stealing motorcycles, which they would subsequently transport to Hub, Balochistan, to sell in the underground market.
Recovered Items
Police recovered the following items during the raid:
- Two Motorcycles: One stolen from the jurisdiction of Zaman Town Police Station and the other from Ferozabad.
- Two Mobile Phones: An iPhone and an Infinix, both snatched during a single robbery in Manghopir.
- Laptop: A stolen device recovered from their hideout.
Criminal Record
During the initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to snatching 80 to 90 high-value mobile phones and stealing over two dozen motorcycles.
The AVLC officials stated that further investigation is underway, and they expect more arrests as they work to dismantle the larger network connected to these suspects.
