KARACHI – In a major move to facilitate the residents of Karachi’s eastern and southern districts, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced the establishment of a new Mega Center in Korangi.
Official Agreement
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the NADRA Regional Head Office Karachi and the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Korangi is set to be signed on January 13. This partnership aims to bring essential identification services closer to the doorstep of millions.
Capacity and Specialized Facilities
The Korangi Mega Center will be equipped with 30 one-window counters, designed to handle a daily influx of 2,500 to 3,000 applicants. Beyond standard ID services, the center will feature several specialized desks:
- Dedicated Counters: For Succession Certificates, Pak-ID, and Arms Licenses.
- Modern Features: Self-service kiosks and a Zonal Office.
- Special Assistance: Dedicated counters for senior citizens and a Thalassemia test counter.
Areas to Benefit
This facility will serve as a central hub for approximately 4 million citizens living in and around the following areas:
- Korangi, Landhi, and Korangi Creek.
- Shah Faisal Colony and Malir Model Colony.
- Chakra Goth, Qayyumabad, and Ibrahim Hyderi.
- Bin Qasim and Steel Town.
By centralizing these services, the new center is expected to significantly reduce travel time and congestion for residents of these densely populated neighborhoods.
