KARACHI – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi launched a scathing attack on the Sindh government during a massive rally at Numaish Chowrangi, accusing the provincial authorities of obstructing PTI’s political activities and disrespecting Sindhi cultural symbols.
Allegations of State Repression
Addressing a large crowd, CM Sohail Afridi claimed that the Sindh government placed numerous hurdles to prevent the gathering. “Despite the police brutality we faced at various points today, the people removed every obstacle to make this rally a success,” he stated.
He further alleged that the Sindh government’s actions amounted to a “desecration of the Sindhi Topi and Ajrak,” cultural symbols that represent the hospitality and honor of the province.
Criticism of PPP and PML-N
The KP Chief Minister drew parallels between his experiences in Punjab and Sindh, stating that neither provincial government treated them fairly.
- On Democracy: He remarked that those claiming to be champions of democracy have proven to be the opposite, alleging that a “dictatorship of the PPP” currently exists in Sindh.
- On the Constitution: Afridi accused the PPP of conspiring to alter the basic structure of the Constitution.
Movement for “Founder PTI”
Afridi thanked the people of Karachi for their overwhelming support, asserting that the turnout proves the nation still stands with the founder of PTI. He announced that the next phase of their movement would be in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aimed at spreading the founder’s message nationwide through a “street movement.”
“The people are ready to march toward D-Chowk; we are only waiting for the call from our leader,” Afridi said. He vowed that the party would not allow anyone to infringe upon their rights or keep their leader in jail without justification.
