KARACHI: Sindh Police has released its first official press update regarding the high-profile murder case of young Karachi businessman Mir Raza, outlining key steps in the ongoing high-level investigation. The investigation team is critically reviewing multiple documents, including two post-mortem reports, one final report, and three chemical analysis reports—the latest of which was received on August 17—as certain ambiguities and discrepancies in these reports require further clarification. To bridge these technical gaps, authorities have contacted the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) to analyze data from the victim’s mobile phone and smartwatch. Additionally, police have reached out to Apple for assistance in unlocking the mobile device, while the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has been engaged to investigate digital currency-related angles. Alongside these daily technical and forensic reviews, investigators are actively cross-referencing information gathered from the victim’s family, friends, and associates. Law enforcement officials expect a major breakthrough in the case once the pending clarifications on the chemical analysis reports are officially resolved.
