PTA and Meta Join Forces to Elevate Youth Online Safety and Digital Literacy in Pakistan

KARACHI: In a significant move to strengthen Pakistan’s digital ecosystem, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Meta have officially signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to establish a collaborative framework aimed at promoting youth online safety, digital literacy, and the responsible use of digital platforms. This strategic partnership focuses on fostering mutual dialogue, enhancing institutional capacity, and streamlining online content management. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, emphasized that the core objective of this initiative is to cultivate a secure, resilient, and trustworthy digital environment, with a particular focus on protecting child and youth consumers. Under this framework, both organizations will jointly execute nationwide awareness campaigns, engage in proactive policy dialogues, ensure regulatory compliance, and exchange global best practices to significantly bolster digital well-being and safety across the country.
