KARACHI: The judicial commission investigating the murder case of Mir Raza Ali has adjourned its proceedings until October 2, 2026, as a formal decision regarding the extension of its tenure remains pending. Headed by Justice Umar Sial, the commission’s initial one-month mandate officially expired on September 27. Although the Sindh Chief Minister has approved a summary to extend the tenure until October 15, final authorization rests with the Sindh Cabinet, which is scheduled to meet on October 1. In the event that the cabinet approves the extension, new notices will be issued to witnesses, alongside questionnaires dispatched to three senior police officers. However, if the extension is denied, the commission will forego summoning further witnesses and instead finalize and submit its report based exclusively on the testimonies recorded thus far.
