KARACHI: The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench has issued a stay order halting proceedings against protesters in the Mir Raza murder case, directing Ferozabad Police to take no further coercive action against the petitioners. Defense counsel Wajiha Nadeem argued that the FIR against the 20 young individuals was registered in bad faith for exercising their constitutional right to peaceful assembly, noting that eight of the named petitioners have already secured bail. Justice Saleem Jessar ordered police to refrain from nominating any additional individuals in the case and adjourned the hearing until October 9.
