KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has enforced a strict and immediate ban on the use of CNG and LPG in all vehicles providing pick-and-drop services to students. Under this directive, affiliated educational institutions must ensure that transport operators fully comply with the fuel restrictions, a mandate that will remain in effect even during academic holidays. Non-compliant vehicles will be barred from operating as school transport and will face heavy penalties, including fines and vehicle impoundment.
To uphold judicial orders and maintain safety standards, school administrations are now required to conduct regular inspections and monitoring of all student transport. Additionally, institutions must launch awareness campaigns to educate parents, students, and transport operators about the severe hazards associated with unauthorized and dangerous fuels. The primary objective of this regulatory measure is to eliminate potential safety risks and secure a safer commute for students across the city.
