The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi has successfully apprehended three terrorists linked to the outlawed Sindhu Desh Revolutionary Army (SRA) for opening fire at an Independence Day stall in Defence Phase II. The attack resulted in the tragic death of a 35-year-old citizen, Aman, who was targeted in front of his family. Authorities revealed that the operation was orchestrated by a foreign-based handler acting on behalf of a hostile Indian proxy.
During a press conference, DIG CTD Ghulam Azfar Mahesar detailed that the suspects—identified as Zafar Ali, Faraz, and Sajjad Ahmed—were arrested near the Causeway. Law enforcement officials also recovered three hand grenades and pistols from their possession during the operation. The brutal shooting claimed the life of 35-year-old Aman, who succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment after being shot in front of his wife and children. Investigations revealed that the arrested terrorists belonged to the banned SRA and had been assigned the task of targeting the Independence Day stall by an overseas-based operative named Arsalan Shah. According to police, this network operates under hostile foreign directives aimed at spreading terror across Sindh.
